Open-House (OH) Workshops
OH Workshops are collaborative professional development programs in our Caribbean Cultural, Ballroom & Latin (B&L) Dance Fraternity & Communities.
We provide facilitation support and resources to make this opportunity a successful venture, and extend an invitation for currently Active Dance Tutors to contribute to the professional skills development of dance enthusiasts & athletes.
New and experienced dancers are introduced to various dance styles & technique, as well as to experience the expertise of tutors currently operating in this space.
Facilities & Resources
Necessary facilitation support & resources are provided with extensive promotional, social media & marketing exposure as significant value to tutors' development efforts and organizations.
For each successful event, in addition, we endeavour to offer a token honorarium to professionally certified dance tutors, CALDATT TDP Tutor Trainees & DNA Tutors - in appreciation of your contribution and support in extending the widest possible promotion, invitation & attendance of your students, colleagues & friends, to ensure the success of these events.
OH Workshop SCHEDULES
OH Workshops provide special focus sessions that include (0-60) Intro. to Interm. Level Dance Training held at an expected 1 to 1 & 1/4 hrs duration, or as scheduled for each dance style and event, including:
- Caribbean Cultural, Contemporary & Free-Style Dance Genre including Indo & Afro Caribbean Styles, Hip-Hop, Soca, Dancehall and more; OR
- Ballroom & LATIN (B&L) Dance Styles including Classical & Club-Style Rumba, Latin 3-Step, Salsa / Mambo, Swing / Jive, Kizomba, Merengue, waltz and more;
- Interm. to Adv. Level Programs in any of the above or other Dance Styles.
DANCE STYLES
OH Workshop Structure
- Sessions will be for a stipulated duration (usually 1-1&1/4 hrs.) in the selected dance style, and should accommodate participants from Beg. to Interm. Levels, or Special-Focus technical sessions (Int’d to Adv.) for experienced dancers.
- Each Workshop should incorporate:
1. Musicality, rhythm & timing;
2. Technique & execution skills;
3. Styling & performance elements.
LATIN & Ballroom
- BACHATA; SALSA (On 1/2, etc), Casino SALSA Rueda, Afro-Cuban (Guaranco, Pachanga, Son, etc.); KIZOMBA, MERENGUE, Club-Style CHA CHA, Arg. TANGO, Latin 3-STEP, Latin HUSTLE, E/W Coast SWING; etc.;
- BALLROOM-LATIN & Smooth – RUMBA (Amer. vs Int’l), CHA CHA (Int’l vs Amer./Std), SAMBA, SWING/Jive, WALTZ,…
Free-Style & Contemporary
- FREE-STYLE, AFRO-BEATS;
- STREET, R&B, SOCA, HIP-HOP;
